Restoring a Storm Server from an Image

Now that you have an image of a storm server, you can create new servers from that image. Here’s how to do just that:

Reimaging Your Server

Click the Restore tab for the server you wish to reimage. The process is similar to restoring a server from a Storm backup. You can re-image the server from two types of images: pre-built Storm® Server images, and user-created images.

Simply select the image you wish to use, and then click the Re-Image Server button. A pop-up window will warn you that the process will bring your server down, and all the old information on the server will be lost.

In most cases, you will not need to rebuild the filesystem. Re-imaging without rebuilding the filesystem is faster. Should you need to rebuild the filesystem, prepare for the re-image process to take longer. Whether or not you are rebuilding the filesystem, the server will be down for the majority of the process.

As always, if you have any questions about re-imaging your Storm server, do not hesitate to contact our support team.
